A highlight of the sale is Lot 1, William Cornwallis Harris’s Portraits of the Game and Wild Animals of Southern Africa (London, 1840), first edition. Renowned for its superb hand-coloured lithographic plates, the work is considered one of the finest illustrated books on African wildlife and remains highly sought after by collectors.

Lot 2 features Pieter Willemszoon Verhoeff’s Indiae Orientalis Pars IX. Historicam Descriptionem (Frankfurt, 1612), first edition. This important early travel account describes Verhoeff’s voyage to the Moluccas (1607–1609) and includes a notable half-page map of the Cape of Good Hope.

Completing the highlights is Lot 4, Charles Dickens’s The Personal History of David Copperfield (London, 1850), first edition, second issue, illustrated by H.K. Browne, retaining most first-issue points.
